5.5 x 8.5 inches. In green cloth covers with gilt to spine and gilt palm tree to front. In very good condition. Spine slightly bumped at ends. Mild foxing to edges. Slight browning to endpapers. Publisher?s compliments stamp to main title page. Else a clean and tight copy. 253 pp. With b/w photographs and maps, one fold out. The author was a planter who spent years in the South Sea Islands. He describes the islands and their inhabitants, including some still described as cannibals.
