Real-Time Parenting is the antidote to our comparison culture. Parents increase self-awareness and develop trust in themselves by taking inventory of their personality, values, and past experiences. They craft a unique vision for their family and choose action steps to meet their children's needs in the heat of everyday moments.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting. Real-Time Parenting is written by three parent coaches who understand the demands of parenthood and empower moms and dads to discover their personal best. Through stories and practice, they respond to their family with intention instead of reacting from stress. They build self-confidence as they embrace a positive mindset, celebrate wins, and engage with a supportive community.
Referencing well-known experts and professional experience, Real-Time Parenting presents a versatile toolkit of ten best practices based in positive communication, effective discipline, and problem-solving. Parents become influential guides for their unique children through teaching, modeling, and setting healthy boundaries. They focus on connection and encouraging "do" behaviors instead of trying to control their children. Moms and dads realize it is never too late to improve the parent-child relationship. Parents propel their children toward healthy independence and find renewed joy in real time.

Words from our readers:
This book offers insightful and research-based self-awareness opportunities to help parents become more mindful of their experiences and how they show up for their children. The action steps in this book shift how parenting is viewed creating an opportunity to connect with children in a more authentic and meaningful way. I have had the honor of working with all three of these women, so I know they are not only well-qualified and inspiring parent coaches, they walk the walk of these teachings in their own lives. Reading this book is a gift to you and your family...don't miss it!
- Cathy Cassani Adams, LCSW, podcast host and author of Zen Parenting
There is no greater responsibility - and no more urgent necessity - than for adults to become good parents and teachers to our children. The children of the world belong to all of us. Each of us bears the responsibility to raise them in a loving, safe, secure environment. Parenting has become riddled with confusion, complexity, and doubt. This magnificent, guidebook, created by Amy Armstrong, Mary Funari, and Beth Miller, stands tall. It is an exquisitely formulated, comprehensive roadmap for navigating the challenges of parenting in the 21st Century. Real-Time Parenting should be required reading for all human beings venturing into the morass of conflicting emotions, impulses, and pressures known as "parenthood." I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!"
- John E. Welshons, author of One Soul, One Love, One Heart; When Prayers Aren't Answered; and Awakening From Grief
I love the format of this book. It is inviting. A guidebook for parents highlighting everyday situations that arise while parenting children of all ages, the authors offer insightful explanations and tools for parents to consider. It reminds me of a favorite cookbook that will become well-worn with use. Real-Time Parenting is a warm yet straightforward approach to parenting that I believe will resonate with many.
