About the Author
JOHN G. ACKENHUSEN has been involved with research in real-time signal processing since 1978. Following his work in speech recognition at AT&T Bell Labs, he joined the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan, now ERIM International, Inc., leading efforts in recognition processor and algorithm design. He is a fellow of IEEE, past President of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, and past director of the IEEE Signals and Applications Division. He received his Ph.D. from The University of Michigan.
