Meeta Dani was born and brought up in Nagpur, India. Since her childhood days she has had a strong inclination towards all the arts. She did her post graduation in computer science and worked as a software engineer for over a decade. She started painting in 2010, mostly using oils and acrylics, and began to exhibit her work in local gallaries and exhibitions. Later, she gradually developed a strong desire to become an artist. In 2015, she started painting in realistic style with watercolor. She is completely self-taught, learning mostly by experimenting with watercolor.
Meeta likes to paint portraits, birds, wildlife, still-life and basically anything which seems challenging to her. Light is an integral part of most of her paintings. She loves using bold colors and creating paintings that are strong and crisp.
Meeta now resides in Vancouver with her family. She is an active member in the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) and a member of International Watercolor Society (IWS). Besides painting, she likes to do photography and write poetry.
