Reality And Truth: A Critical And Constructive Essay Concerning Knowledge, Certainty, And Truth (1917)

Reality and Truth is a philosophical essay written by John Gabriel Vance in 1917. The book explores the concepts of knowledge, certainty, and truth in a critical and constructive manner. Vance argues that reality is not directly accessible to human beings and that our understanding of reality is always mediated by our senses and our mental processes. He also examines the relationship between truth and certainty, arguing that while truth is objective and independent of our beliefs, certainty is always relative and depends on our subjective experiences and perspectives. The book is written in a clear and accessible style, making it suitable for both students and scholars of philosophy. It remains a significant contribution to the field of epistemology and continues to be studied and debated by philosophers today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
