Investigative journalist and former FBI agent Turner recounts his career since 1951. Topics covered include the corruption of Hoover's FBI, the assassinations of John and Bobby Kennedy, the Bay of Pigs, and Watergate, as well as little-known events such as the "Farewell America" plot and the stealth war against Cuba. Coverage extends to the CIA's burglaries of the offices of the United Farm Workers Union and Ramparts magazine (of which Turner was an editor). The volume does not include bibliographical references. About the Author
William Turner was a special agent with the FBI from 1951 to 1961, when he turned to investigative journalism. His work has appeared in The Nation, Playboy, New West, The Progressive, Penthouse and Scanlon s Monthly, among other publications, and he was a senior editor of Ramparts magazine. His many books include Hoover s FBI; The Police Establishment; The 10-Second Jailbreak (with Warren Hinckle and Eliot Asinof); The Assassination of Robert Kennedy (with Jonn Christian); and Deadly Secrets: The CIA-Mafia War Against Castro and the Assassination of JFK (with Warren Hinckle). Considered a top expert on the FBI, the CIA, assassinations and the paramilitary right, Turner has appeared on many TV shows and lectured widely on these subjects.
