The Rebel's Guide to Recovery

Addiction is often treated as a disease.
But what if it is actually a search for transcendence?

In The Rebel’s Guide to Recovery, Jost Sauer challenges conventional ideas about addiction and recovery.

Many people struggling with addiction are not simply seeking escape — they are searching for intensity, meaning and heightened states. Traditional recovery models often try to suppress this drive, leaving people fighting cravings for the rest of their lives.

This book takes a radically different approach.

Drawing on his own journey from addiction to personal transformation, Jost Sauer reveals how he reverse-engineered the experience of drug highs and discovered how the same states can be accessed naturally through lifestyle, movement, breath and awareness.

The result is a revolutionary model of recovery based on understanding the body’s natural energy rhythms and learning how to generate powerful states of clarity, vitality and inspiration without substances.

Inside this book you’ll discover how to:

• Understand the real forces that drive addiction
• Transform the desire for altered states into a path of personal growth
• Generate natural highs through lifestyle, exercise and meditation
• Rebuild energy, motivation and purpose
• Turn the past into the foundation for an extraordinary future

Honest, controversial and deeply empowering, The Rebel’s Guide to Recovery offers a non-judgemental alternative to traditional recovery models.

If you’ve ever felt that recovery should be about building a powerful life — not just avoiding relapse — this book shows a different way forward.
