Bright, clean illustrated map endpapers. Tan cloth panels are bright and clean with four sharp corners. Original DJ is price-clipped. el-Krim was a Moroccan political and military leader and President of the Republic of the Rif; aka the Confederal Republic of the Tribes of the Rif. This eclectic collection of indigenous tribes of North Africa banded together and launched a large-scale revolt against the French and Spanish colonizers of the Rif, in Morocco. el-Krim is largely attributed to be the first military strategist to utilize tunneling in their guerrilla tactics; and el-Krim's successes would have a direct impact and influence on tactics used by the likes of other notorious guerrillas such as Ho Chi Minh, Mao Zedong and Che Guevara.
