Reconstruction on My Policy: Or Its Author at the Confessional (Classic Reprint)

A sharp, satirical verse about power, policy, and the cost of Reconstruction. This edition presents a probing, darkly funny portrait of a political figure steering a nation through tumult, with a focus on strategy, loyalty, and public perception.

The work uses verse to skim through rallies, cabinet rooms, and railroad cars, offering a lampooned take on political theater and the people who shape national policy. It blends history-inspired figures with theatrical exaggeration to expose how power and reputation intertwine in a moment of national upheaval.

• Meet a chorus of real and imagined figures as they move through cities, stages, and conventions.
