Recovering from Dysfunction: You Are Not Alone

“While Recovering from Dysfunction reminds me I am NOT alone with my hurts and hang-ups, the book's greatest success is in reminding me that the solution is not as far away as I once thought.”
―Jim Sonefeld, musician, Hootie and the Blowfish

After reading Recovering from Dysfunction you will know that you are not alone, “less than,” or incapable of change. The characters in these pages will offer you hope. The chapter titles say it all: “lost identity, renewed hope,” “sex, anger and addiction” “depressed but not done,” and “from rejection to redemption” among others. Paul brings to life the experiences of individuals found in Scripture whose stories are similar to ours. With a background both as a therapist and recovery leader he captures both the dysfunction and the recovery in stories like yours and mine.

The principles for recovery at the end of each chapter offer concise summaries of life's struggles and offer valuable insights into what it means to live in recovery. Whatever life's hurts, habits or hang-ups you may identify with, this book is for you! Whether you read it alone, or reflect on the questions at the end of the chapter as a group, you will learn that you are NOT alone in your dysfunction and you are NOT alone on the journey towards recovery!
