Recovering a Vintage Faith (Paperback)

Paperback. Recovering the Fundamentals of Authentic EvangelicalismIn an age of evangelical confusion, Recovering a Vintage Faith boldly calls us back to the core of what evangelicalism is meant to be. Through a careful examination of Scripture and history, Cory Marsh argues that genuine evangelical identity is rooted in five fundamental convictions: the supremacy of Scripture, the exclusivity of Jesus for salvation, a zeal for evangelism, participation in theological education, and the necessity of consistent local church fellowship.Marsh contends these historic fundamentals have been obscured by cultural and political forces, celebrity personalities, and a lack of biblical grounding, resulting in a modern "evan-jello-calism" that is anything but stable. With clarity and conviction, he shows how returning to these essentials will anchor evangelicals in a vibrant, historically rooted faith that is driven by biblical belief and behavior rather than cultural trends. For anyone desiring a faith that is theologically robust, missionally passionate, and ecclesiologically grounded, Recovering a Vintage Faith is a timely and provocative manifesto. It issues a clarion call to embrace the fundamentals that have always defined authentic evangelicalism, providing a clear vision for what the evangelical church can and should be.
