Our Recovery of Jesus (Paperback or Softback)

"Our Recovery of Jesus" is a profound exploration into the historical and spiritual essence of one of history's most influential figures. Written by Walter Ernest Bundy, this work delves into the critical challenge of distinguishing the historical Jesus from the formalized dogmas that have accumulated over centuries. Bundy argues for a "recovery" of the human Jesus, focusing on his personal religious experience and the psychological realities of his life rather than solely on theological abstractions.

The book navigates the complexities of New Testament scholarship, providing a thoughtful analysis of how modern believers and scholars alike can approach the life of Jesus with fresh eyes. By examining the historical context and the inner life of Jesus, Bundy seeks to present a figure who is both historically grounded and spiritually relevant. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the religious consciousness of Jesus as the key to modern Christian practice. This study serves as an essential resource for those interested in Christology, biblical criticism, and the intersection of history and faith. "Our Recovery of Jesus" remains a significant contribution to religious thought, offering a compelling vision of a faith rooted in the actual personhood and lived experience of its central figure. It is an intellectual journey designed for those seeking a deeper, more historical connection to the roots of Christianity.
