About the Author: Maria Borrély est le grand auteur de Provence qui parle de la vie et du travail dans le monde rural. Amie de Jean Giono, éditée par André Gide, pacifiste aprčs la guerre de 14, résistante pendant celle de 40, elle décrit particuličrement le rōle, la condition et les sentiments des femmes. En 1909, ą 19 ans, elle prend son premier poste d’institutrice dans le hameau de Certamussat, dans les Basses-Alpes, ą 1600 m d’altitude. Ce séjour en montagne au bord de l’Ubayette, affluent de l’Ubaye, va marquer la jeune femme qui vient de la ville. Il donnera naissance au roman «Les Reculas» dont la premičre édition date de 1936. Aprčs «Sous le vent», «Les Reculas» est le second roman de Maria Borrély réédité par les éditions Parole.
