FLORENCE HIGHLIGHTS:
Attractions to see on the Red Map Florence include Brunelleschi's Duomo and the churches of Santa Maria Novella, Santa Croce, San Miniato, San Marco, Santo Spirito, and San Lorenzo. The major museums are the Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti (with the Boboli Gardens) and the Accademia with Michelangelo's "David". Near the Duomo is the Baptistry with Lorenzo Ghiberti's famous bronze doors. The merchant princes of Florence left us their beautiful palazzos to see, highlights of which are the Medici and Strozzi. If you have time, attend a concert or opera at the Parco della Musica Opera di Firenze. Lastly, there is shopping at the stalls on the historic Ponte Vecchio and the designer boutiques of via Tornabuoni. This is also a perfect guide for Pitti Uomo - Florence's Mens' Fashion Shows.
