The Red Tenant (The Nain Rouge Chronicles)

An ancient evil. A colonial ambition. A family's dark covenant.

1701. Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac crosses the Atlantic carrying ambition, royal orders, and a dream of founding a city that will secure his name in history. But aboard La Vigilante, he is not the only thing making the crossing.

Something has come with him. Something old. Something that knows his name — because it has always known his name.

What begins as a brutal Atlantic passage quickly becomes something far worse. The ship's compass fails. A trunk refuses to stay shut. Whispers move through the dark below decks, and men who were sound at sunrise are not sound by nightfall. Fear spreads through crew and passengers alike until the crossing itself feels less like a journey toward opportunity and more like a descent into judgment.

Cadillac has always known his family kept secrets. He did not know the secrets kept them — bound by a bargain struck generations before he was born, fed by ruin and ambition, and carried faithfully across every ocean his bloodline has ever crossed.

The evil aboard La Vigilante is not random. It is not chaos. It knows exactly who he is, exactly what was promised, and exactly what waits for it on the other side of the water.

And it has no intention of arriving quietly.

The Red Tenant is a novel of supernatural horror, historical dread, and dark spiritual reckoning — a haunting story of inherited darkness, mounting terror, and the terrible cost of carrying evil into a new world.
