Redemption on the Savannah (Paperback)

Evelyn Reed lives a life without margins. As a senior partner at London's most predatory private equity firm, Evelyn has mastered the "Calculus of Control." To her, the world is a series of closed equations where human sentiment is merely friction to be eliminated. She doesn't believe in luck, she doesn't believe in faith, and she certainly doesn't believe in the unpredictable.

When she travels to the Maasai Mara to "index" the Great Migration, she brings her world with her: a custom Land Cruiser, an atomic-synced chronograph, and a satellite link. She is the Architect, and the wild is just another spreadsheet waiting to be solved.

But the Mara does not follow a model.

When a catastrophic "century storm" rolls the Land Cruiser into a flooded ravine, Evelyn's fortress becomes her coffin. Stripped of her technology, her status, and her strength, she is left with nothing but a shattered leg and a "worthless" ironstone gifted to her by a local native woman.

In the absolute silence of the savannah, Evelyn must face a terrifying new variable: a massive lioness, and a group of scavengers who have come to strip the last of her humanity.

A visceral, slow-burn novelette about the limits of logic, the power of mercy, and the ancient grace that waits for us when we finally let go of the clock.

David Siler is a storyteller with a passion for weaving suspense, human resilience, and emotional truth into every narrative. Drawing inspiration from travel, history, and the complexities of human relationships, he creates characters who feel real and unforgettable.

When he isn't writing, David enjoys exploring new places, walking along quiet paths, and savoring the simple rituals of life that often find their way into his stories. His fiction blends heart-pounding tension with deep introspection, reminding readers that even in the darkest corners of life, there's always a spark of hope.

The Last Passport is a reflection of David's love for travel, history, and the question of what it means to leave behind a legacy that truly matters.
