Rediscovering Lewis

This timely collection of essays is an invitation to listen afresh to C. S. Lewis. America’s much-loved theologian, especially among evangelicals and Roman Catholics, is being reclaimed as an Anglican who can shape the theology of the mainline. A textured, integrated, and nuanced Lewis emerges from these essays, with a focus on symbol, poetry, conversion, friendship, atonement, and suffering. Contributors come from a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives—from Pakistan to England, from evangelical to Catholic, and from theologically conservative to progressive. Often reduced to a popular apologist or author of children’s stories, this book makes the case that we are in the presence of an Anglican theologian with stature. It is a pioneering text, which will set an agenda for Lewis studies for decades to come.
