Reference Guide to Short Fiction

New edition of a reference that provides critical coverage of 376 writers of short stories and novellas, almost all of whom were born after 1750. In the first major section, each entry contains biographical data (nationality, date and place of birth and death, education, spouse and number of children, career, and awards); bibliography (title and date of separately published works and a selected list of critical studies); and a critical essay. Next, 403 essays discuss specific works of short fiction by one of the authors. Arranged alphabetically. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
