Reflecting Fifty Years commemorates five decades of artistic innovation and cultural enrichment at Washington State University's extraordinary art museum, honoring the voices that shaped its history through iconic exhibitions, significant acquisitions, and memorable experiences. Utilizing archived images alongside insightful essays that add context related to its development, this anniversary publication reflects the evolution of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU from its nascent and promising beginnings to its vibrant present. Readers will learn about the visionaries who laid the foundation for the institution and its collections, as well as successive eras of leadership--each one steadfast in their belief that art matters as an integral part of an educational and community experience. The volume also includes personal anecdotes from WSU faculty, students, and community members enchanted by the museum and who value it as a catalyst for learning, personal growth, and meaningful connection.
