Reformulating the Christian Marriage Counseling Model: Where Abuse is Involved

“Reformulating the Christian Marriage Counseling Model Where Abuse is Involved” takes an in-depth look at the traditional Christian marriage counseling model, explains why it so often fails when abuse has permeated the marriage relationship, and subsequently proposes a more effective, balanced model based on an understanding of God's design for marriage. Unfortunately, the common Christian marriage counseling experience focuses almost exclusively on saving the marriage, no matter how toxic, cruel and ungodly the relationship has become. The book delves into the Scriptures that have been misinterpreted - and therefore misapplied - in a manner that unwittingly empowers abusers and diminishes the suffering of their victims in order to facilitate a predetermined outcome. It is long past time to acknowledge the depth of harm caused by all manner of abuse in our homes, identify the wolves in sheep's clothing among us, come to the aid of those who are suffering, and rise in defense of marriage, family and faith in the light of the fullness of biblical truth. “Reformulating the Christian Marriage Counseling Model Where Abuse is Involved” represents an essential move in that direction.
