A Refutation of Every Argument Brought Against the Truth of Christianity, and Revealed Religion, by Thomas Paine, in the First Part of His Work, Called 'The Age of Reason'

A Refutation Of Every Argument Brought Against The Truth Of Christianity, And Revealed Religion, By Thomas Paine, In The First Part Of His Work, Called 'The Age Of Reason' by William Grisenthwaite is a polemical defense of revealed religion against Paine's Deist critique. The work systematically mounts a rebuttal to Paine's claims about revelation, miracles, and the authority of Scripture, arguing that reason alone cannot ground morality, immortality, or the existence of God without divine revelation. Grisenthwaite defends the Christian account of revelation as evidenced by prophecies, miracles, and the historical transmission of the Gospel, and he critiques Paine's arguments about the supposed 'one God' Deism, the supposed 'adulterous' union of Church and State, and the idea that Christianity arose from pagan myths. He emphasizes the compatibility of Christian faith with reason, and he argues that revelation provides moral guidance, a coherent theory of salvation, and a solution to the problem of evil.
