Volume One: significant wear to fragile spine with a small chip missing from the top as well as some cracking and general shelfwear, boards rubbed and marked; Volume Two: Much less worn than Volume One but still some marking and rubbing to edges and spine, name of Lieutenant Colonel Graham Stirling (possibly of Auchyle, Duchray and Rednoch) written neatly in ink on title page of vol.1. New and Enlarged Edition (presuned Second Edition), pp xiii, viii, 552, folding regimental forms. A fascinating look at the British Army at the time of the War of the Second Coalition during the French Revolutionary Wars, includes numerous insights into the way the British Army Worked in the lead up to the Napoleonic Wars in 1802.
