Excerpt from Regulations 55 Relating to Stamp Taxes on Documents: Except on Issue, Sales and Transfers of Certificates of Stock and Sales of Products for Future Delivery, Imposed by Title 11 of the Revenue Act of 1918, Approved, February, 24, 1919

Art. 15. Certificates of indebtedness issued by receivers - A certificate of indebtedness issued under order of a Federal court by a receiver is subject to tax.

Art. 16. Bonds of indebtedness executed and delivered as security. The tax applies to bonds of indebtedness executed by the obligor and delivered to a bank or trust company as security for the payment of an obligation.

Art. 17. Bonds executed in Canada and delivered in the United States Bonds executed in Canada by a Canadian corporation, certified to by a trustee in the United States, given for part of the purchase price of timber located in Canada, and delivered in the United States are sub jcet to tax.

Art. 18. Bonds issued in satisfaction of insurance policies - Bonds issued by life Insurance companies in satisfaction of insurance policies are subject to tax.
