No Edition Stated. 257 pages. Quarter bound leather with red cloth covered boards. Book has been rebound with custom message engraved to front board. Gilt lettering and decorations to spine. Contains black and white plates by Wilhelm von Kaulbach, protected by tissue guards. Title page is missing, therefore publication date unknown; decorative title page still present. Custom slipcase. Front free endpaper detached but still present. Pages are noticeably tanned with moderate foxing. More pronounced to some sections of the book. Cracking to hinges & gutters, binding remains firm with pages attached. Tissue guards are noticeable creased. Pencil inscription to reverse side of frontispiece. Plates are moderately tanned and foxed. Boards have noticeable edge wear with corner bumping. Splits to spine ends with leather peeling Faint black marks to all surfaces. Book is bowed and forward leaning. Slipcase is worn with loss and scuffing. Splits to edges, paper peeling to edges. Seller Inventory # 1717498662CAB
