The Relative Proportions Of The Steam Engine: A Course Of Lectures (1878)

The book ""The Relative Proportions Of The Steam Engine: A Course Of Lectures"" was written by William Dennis Marks and was first published in 1878. The book is a comprehensive guide to the principles and practices of steam engine design, with a focus on the relative proportions of the various components of the engine. The author presents a series of lectures on the subject, covering topics such as the calculation of the size of the cylinder, the proportions of the piston rod and connecting rod, the size and shape of the valves, and the design of the flywheel. The book is aimed at engineers and students of mechanical engineering, and provides a detailed and practical understanding of the design principles that underlie the operation of steam engines. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of engineering, and provides a fascinating insight into the development of steam power during the late 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
