"The Relic" by Eca De Queiroz 1954 Vintage Softcover Book 8 1/4 " x 5 3/4" 288 Pages The softcover book is in good minus condition free from, rips, tears, bends, and writing. There is a small chip on the bottom of page 131 and there is light edge toning. The softcover wraps are in good minus condition with overall light wear and fading on the spine. The binding is tight and square. Spurred on by the desire to please his aunt, and in order to get away from his unfaithful mistress, Teodorico embarks on a journey to the Holy Land in search of a holy relic. The resulting fiasco is a masterpiece of comic irony as religious bigotry and personal greed are mercilessly ridiculed.
