The 64 atmospheric watercolour illustrations, each with its tissue cover, accompany a fascinating text (beautiful typography too) on the 2000 years of history of this great City.The binding is dark blue with gilt design and titling to front There is a little wear to top and bottom of spine and to corners.Apart from a small brown mark on tissue over frontispiece and on title page, the text is clean with just a tiny amount of foxing to fore-edges. Head edges are gilt. Previous owner's name to front pdep and a very light band of offset shading.The paintings of London scenes, before two world wars and the resultant damage and rebuilding, illustrate a forgotten era. a LARGE HEAVY BOOK WHICH WILL REQUIRE SOME EXTRA POSTAGE.
