Printed during the Reign of Charles the 2nd, this volume provides historical background on the English Civil War. This major work was an intervention in a religious controversy, undertaken in defense of Christopher Potter, Provost of The Queen's College, Oxford, against the Jesuit Edward Knott. Overall, a beautifully rebound, superior copy in excellent condition considering age.
