Relocation as Inspiration: Creating from Diverse Landscapes

This book, illustrated with over 70 full colour images of art and travel locations, heads out on the road and back into the studio, and captures the creative mind in full flight. We accompany artist and author, Lyne Marshall, as she explores her ancestral past, her love of Australia's wild places and the history embedded in the landscape. Her musings on relevant topics that relate to creativity, and the gathering of inspiration for creating artworks for the RE: Location exhibition, fill the pages with stories we all can relate to.

On working in the studio and how she uses her experiences in the landscape for inspiration, Lyne relates...'In my mind I go back to my travels, and once again as I stand before the blank paper, lost in the magic of amazing memories, I am in awe of the creative process. I am transported back to the gorges of the Pilbara, watching lights on the water at Broome, boating at Lake Argyle, overwhelmed by the shapes at Purnululu, mesmerised by the freshwater crocodiles at Windjana Gorge, and empowered by the Pink Lake at Port Gregory.'
