You know the Christmas story by heart. This Advent, step inside it.
In a season that rushes past the manger, Remarkable Advent invites you to slow down and see the first Christmas as if for the first time. Each 10-minute daily reading opens with Scripture, then leads your heart and imagination into the scenes surrounding Christ's birth.
You'll see Mary loosen the knot of her belt as her baby grows. You'll watch Joseph wrestle with Mary's incredible story. And you will discover that God has always intended to use ordinary people—like you—to fulfill his extraordinary plan.
Each day's reading includes:
- Scripture to anchor the story, reflection, and prayer
- Vivid storytelling that brings you into the lives of Mary, Joseph, and others
- Heart-level reflection connecting the first Christmas to your life today
- Guided prayer to help you focus on Jesus and his faithful care for you
Author Shauna Letellier draws on her degree in Biblical Studies and two decades of Bible teaching to weave history, theology, and imaginative detail together. She drapes the fabric of imagination over the framework of Scripture, so the story you know by heart comes to life in your mind.
Perfect for personal devotions, family reading, or gift giving. A fitting companion for readers of Unwrapping the Names of Jesus by Asheritah Ciuciu, The Women of Christmas by Liz Curtis Higgs, and The Characters of Christmas by Daniel Darling.
This December, keep it by the Advent candles, read it aloud at the table, or give it to someone who longs to step inside the Christmas story and marvel at God's work once again.

From the Back Cover
When was the last time you felt true Christmas wonder? Does reading the traditional story invoke bored sighs instead of astonished gasps?
What if we could hold a candle to history's frosted window and peer into the past? In Remarkable Advent, Shauna Letellier drapes the fabric of imagination over the framework of Scripture, and the Christmas story comes to life.
Through the window, you'll see Mary readjust the knot on her belted waist. You'll long to comfort Joseph as he wrestles with what seems to be a terrible nightmare.
Twenty-five daily readings include Scripture, an imaginative retelling of the moments leading to Christ's birth, a devotional reflection, and a prayer. You will discover it has always been God's intention to use ordinary people--like you and me--to fulfill his extraordinary plan.
The story of Christmas is proof.
