Remarkable Women: Perspectives on Female Talent Development (Perspectives on Creativity)

As the first collection of studies about gifted women, this volume fills the gap between the literatures in women's achievement and gifted education. With contributions from different disciplines, feminist orientations, and research methodologies, the book provides a model for continuing research on women and giftedness. Readers can examine the ways personal circumstances and social/historical contexts affect women's self-view, choices, opportunities, and fulfillment of potential. This unique book expands the array of scholarly perspectives available in the fields of talent development and gender studies and provides a springboard for new research and policy discussions of how best to serve the needs of gifted girls and women.
