About this title

Synopsis:

Remembering shows how to go beyond the names and dates in your family tree and bring to life the people, events and stories which shape the history of your family.

When Rose Street and Rose Street Revisited captured the notice of readers throughout the country and all over the world, the authors decided to respond to the many people who told them they want to tell their own family stories, but feel they "can't write," or they "don't have the time," or are afraid their family history wouldn't be interesting enough to write about.

This easy to follow guide is filled with writing guidelines and resources, drawing examples from Rose Street, Rose Street Revisited and other sources. It makes it possible and exciting for anyone to collect and tell their stories.

About the Author:

Carmen J. Leone is retired from his position as Associate Professor of English/Theatre Arts at Edinboro Iniversity of Pennsylvania, but continues to teach at Youngstown State University in Ohio. The baby among Josephine and Carmen's children, he's still called Junior by some of the old Rose Street gang. He's the father of eleven and the grandfather of many.

Carmen, the author of Rose Street and Rose Street Revisited, has also had numerous poems, short stories, and articles published. He enjoys cartooning and playing guitar with his children and friends.

Robert A. Calcagni is a former Group Vice President of Commercial Intertech Corporation, a well-known international NYSE company. Following his retirement in early 1999, he established Calcagni & Associates, a consulting, writing, and publishing business. Bob, a first cousin of Carmen, assisted in the development of Rose Street and also wrote the epilogue. He is the author of two articles which appeared in the "Reader's Digest" and has written several pieces for "Buon Giorno Magazine."

Bob and his wife Gina, parents of five, look forward to sharing the continued legacy of family stories with their six grandchildren.
