321 pp. Davis was assistant librarian at the University of Michigan. His voyage included stops at San Francisco, Hawaii, and other Pacific Islands. He was an articulate writer; his description of shipboard life and equipment are particularly interesting. Scarce, not in Smith or Hill. Forbes 2825, who notes that much of the Hawaii text is concerned with day-to-day activities of common seamen. Backstrip sunned, cover lightly worn, one signature pulled, text clean.
