Suppressed and rare: with the famous illustration of the prisoners Sudds and Thompson in chains and spiked iron collars, bound in the original pink paper printed wrappers as issued, which, despite numerous institutional holdings, are UNRECORDED. Ferguson 1660 : 'This rare pamphlet, full of serious charges against Lieut.-General Darling, mostly taken from the columns of the Sydney Monitor, caused Captain Robison, its real author (in this form) and publisher, to be put on trial for criminal libel upon an indictment presented by General Darling. He was convicted on December 11, 1834, and sentenced to four months' imprisonment. [The printer] swore that the circulation was stopped by the defendant, who gave up the whole of the remaining copies after prosecution threatened. This withdrawal has greatly increased the rarity of this item'. 8vo, xvi, 92pp. Bound in the original pink paper wrappers.
