Disbound. Original green wrappers, detached and extensively chipped. 55 pp. 7 folding plates lithographed by August Gast of St. Louis. The plates provide excellent detail of the construction elements of the first major bridge across the Mississippi River at St. Louis. This is a report issued during construction which was ongoing from 1869 to 1874. The bridge is now known as the Eads bridge, after J. B. Eads, the chief engineer and author of this report.
