Very scarce copy of this report presented to both Houses of Parliament by Command of Her Majesty.Concerning the explosion at Whitefield colliery on the 7th February 1881, which was caused by the misuse of an underground blacksmith"s furnace and resulted in an explosion, killing 24 men and boys.Recorded here are the minutes of evidence taken at the inquest held on the 8th, 9, and 14th June 1881, which terminated in a verdict of manslaughter against Mr. E.
