Original colour illustrated wraps 22 x 28cm. viii, 52pp English and viii, 52pp Arabic, illustrated colour and b/w with photos, maps and charts throughout. Dated 15 April 1955 to Aramco Chair F.A. Davies' transmittal letter. Covers good only with patches of scuffing, interiors near fine with previous owner's details in Arabic to Arabic title page. Davies' letter notes record production, wider exploration and mapping operations from the Iraqi border to the southern Rub al Khali, and the extension of drilling in Safaniya (forecast to come into production in 1957) and Ghawar. Without mentioning Mossadegh's overthrow, he discusses the implications of Iranian oil coming back into world markets. He emphasises what Aramco is doing to improve the lot of its Saudi workers in terms of higher wages, shorter hours, enhanced training, education for the sons of Arab employees, a new trachoma research programme, etc. The main chapters cover oil operations; the people of Aramco; health; training; and community, industrial and agricultural development.
