Includes the Contents (pp. I-XX), Appendixes to the Report of the Chief of Engineers, United States Army (pp. 2009-2696, including numerous fold-outs), and an Index (pp. 1-26). These contents are mark-free, complete and securely bound. Black cloth covers with dark black spine lettering: 'Message and Documents War Dep't: Vol. 2: Part 4; 1894-1895'. An odor of mustiness is detectable if held near the nose. Modest condition because these covers are heavily soiled and stained, particularly in the front. Curled upper corner that also affects numerous adjoining page. Also has a couple of small tears in the cloth along the bottom edge.
