1889 Fifth Edition. Kegan Paul, Trench & Co. A Very Rare volume which combines the 3 volumes which comprise The Reproach of Annesley. The 3 individual volumes are very difficult to find, this combined volume is even more Scarce. Maxwell Gray is the pseudonym of Mary Gleed Tuttiett, born in Newport on the Isle of Wight. A Hardback in Good only condition. Publisher's original red boards with design in black and lettering and a motif in gilt. There is a lean and loosening to the spine but the page block remains firm. Monochrome tissue guarded image to frontispiece. Age toning and spotting to endpapers and tissue guard. Splitting to rear hinge and both gutters but nonetheless the boards are not detached from the page block. Softening, bumping and a tiny white "speck" to spine ends and corners. A few brown fox marks and other small markings to pages which are otherwise clean. Original owner's name written neatly in ink and dated 1889. Overall this is a Very Scarce and collectible volume in Good condition, which presents a very unusual opportunity to find and read all 3 volumes of this work.
