Requiem for a Nun

Random House, New York, 1951. Hard Back. Book Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Assumed first edition but no indication of what printing it is (it is clearly a later printing, purchased new in 1985). 8" tall, 286 numbered pages; one piece black cloth-like binding, gitt lettering on spine and on the front board; plain ivory end pages; fore edge is trimmed. Book has a slight lean and is very clean; hinges strong; head and heel of spine lightly pushed in; no corner bumps or edge dings; lettering on spine and front board undamaged. Except for the owner's inked name / date / location on the back of the FFEP, the interior spotlessly clean--no writing, stray marks, stains or paper damage; hinges are quite strong and not damaged in any fashion. Book has very little shelf wear. Jacket is very good with no tears or chips, though both edges are slightly darkened for a depth of about 1/2". Publisher's original price of "$13.95" on front flap. Jacket is in a mylar cover. Condition of book and jacket consistent with either not being read or being very gently read. No other discernible or objectionable faults on book or jacket such as marks or writing within, stains, tears, chips, or other damage that would diminish its appearance. No remainder mark, no other previous owner markings or inscriptions, not price clipped, not a book club edition, not a former library book.…
