About this Item

From a theological library. This collection comprises 17 volumes bound into 10 volumes. Lacking Volume 12, the last volume is No. 18. Some volumes are numbered by the page, while most volumes are numbered by the pages' double columns. The books are very clean, with the pages being very clean, still crisp, and tightly bound. Bound in period, dark grey/black cardboard covers, with red paper, gilt lettered spine labels. The books have rubbing and chipping to the spine ends, cover edges, corners, and to the hinges. Several backstrips are detached on one side. A few of the lower spines have library labels. The inner covers have library bookplates. Most books have engraved frontispieces, with some being fold-out, with engraved title pages. The fold-out map in Volume I, 'Italiae Antiquae Tabula', has a stain to the center. Vol. I, printed in 1723, also contains 'Tomi Primi Pars Secunda', printed in 1725, with the volume's pagination being: (32), (4), 531; (12), 618 pages, (with regular pagination, not being printed in double columns). Vol. II was printed in 1723, and also contains 'Pars Altera', printed in 1726. Vols. III/IV were both printed in 1723. Vols.V/VI were printed in 1724/1725. Vols. VII/VIII were printed in 1725/1726. Vols. IX/X were printed in 1726/1727. Vol. XI was printed in 1727. Vols. XIII/XIV were printed in 1728/1729. Vols. XV/XVI were printed in 1729. Vols. XVII/XVIII were printed in 1730/1731. These books measure about 9-3/4 inches by 14-3/4 inches (about 244mm by 368mm). All 10 volumes need about 37 inches (about 92.5 cm) of shelf space. Contains a number of engravings, some being fold-out. Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 14631
