Research in Education: From Research Question to Research Design

Developing research skills is now a core subject in many Bachelor of Education programs. Research in Education is an accessible guide to planning and designing education research projects for pre-service teachers. It covers all the skills novice researchers need to conduct a small project, and helps the student to identify their area of research interest and then focus their topic into something manageable yet original and sustainable. It features comprehensive, readable explanations of key concepts and adopts an iterative approach, encouraging students to revisit research questions, research design and methodology as they progress through planning.

Bev Moriarty is a senior lecturer in the School of Teacher Education at Charles Sturt University. She currently teaches Research Methods for CSU's Master of Education and Graduate Certificate in Educational Research. She has published book chapters on intersystemic research and collaboration and journal articles on research design in education research.
