David Elmes is Professor of Psychology at Washington and Lee University, where he has taught since 1967. He earned his B.A. with high honors from the University of Virginia and completed the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees there. He is a past president of the Council on Undergraduate research and is a fellow of the American Psychological Society. Professor Elmes has edited READINGS IN EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY and DIRECTORY OF RESEARCH IN PSYCHOLOGY AT PRIMARILY UNDERGRADUATE INSTITUTIONS. He is co-author of RESEARCH METHODS IN PSYCHOLOGY, Seventh Edition (Wadsworth 2003).
