Fold-out map in Rear depicting "part of Turkey with Greece" with and inset of "Plan of Constantinople", dedication page to the "Members of the Boston Female Seminary, for the Promotion of Christianity among the Jews", second edition (which note from publishers: came out before the first was distributed). In Preface: "I went to the Mediterranean particularly with the view of investigating the condition of the Jews", the book follows his travels from leaving Boston to Gibraltar, Malta, Smyrna, and Constantinople. - A cut-out from previous owner, 1830 - as prev. owners name is inscribed and dated 1930 on ffep, news-clipping on the Ancestery of "Eaton" in Boston, Mass (interesting but probably un-related).
