About the Author
Daniel M. Neides, MD, is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing at The Cleveland Clinic since 1996. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Neides earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He then completed his residency in Family Medicine at Riverside Methodist Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Neides medical interests continue to be in the areas of Preventive Medicine, Behavioral Medicine, and Predoctoral Education. He has been recognized during his tenure at The Cleveland Clinic for his dedication to medical student education. In 2000, Dr. Neides received The Distinguished Educator Award from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and The Cleveland Clinic. In 2003, he was inducted into AOA by The Ohio State University College of Medicine. In 2004, the Division of Regional Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic presented him with the Outstanding Educator Award. In 2005, 2006, and 2007 he received the Scholarship in Teaching Award for his role in curriculum development at The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. In 2007, Case Western Reserve University College of Medicine honored Dr. Neides during Commencement ceremonies with The Kaiser Permanente Award for Excellence in Teaching. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Neides is the Associate Director of Clinical Education at The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, overseeing all clinical activities during years 3 to 5 of the Medical School.
