If you are anything like me, you grew up without advantages. Perhaps you were raised by a single parent, struggling to make ends meet, and, like me, you yearned for an escape from poverty. Deep down, you may have carried a secret hope that someone would come along—a mentor who would recognize your potential, nurture your talents, and guide you toward a better life. But, as I found, that guide never appeared, not at least until I turned inward.

Resolved to Evolve is a book about the power of one’s word, commitment, and resolve to be. It’s not a self-help book in the traditional sense; rather, it’s a living model of possibility for your own Resolveation Journal. This book is about conscious, intentional, and purposeful self-creation. It’s about becoming both the maker and the made, the creator and the creation of your reality. Through unwavering resolve and the alignment of heart, will, mind, word, body, and soul, we can shape a life path that we’re proud of, one that reflects our deepest purpose.

At its core, Resolved to Evolve reveals that real transformation lies within. By tapping into the same source that guides our blood flow, our heartbeat, our very breath, we access a reservoir of wisdom that can guide us beyond mere change to true evolution. You know that quiet voice within that I am talking about.

Growing up in poverty with little guidance, I yearned for a mentor who could help me unlock my potential. When no mentor appeared, I turned inward. Driven by a desire to rise above my circumstances, I engaged my intuition and my imagination, creating mentors from the insights I found in books, passages I came across, and even conversations I overheard. I practiced what I call “intentional observation,” always searching and on the lookout for kernels of wisdom, and gradually, I learned to shape these insights into concrete actions that would elevate my life.

These resolveations (resolve + revelation + salvation)—consciously crafted, intentional, purposeful statements of resolve—transformed me from a poor kid with a dream to a jet-setting Global Vice President of Talent Acquisition in Silicon Valley. Now, they are here for you, presented as 560 universal resolves, offering a compass for your own path of self-evolution.
