Rest Your Dreams on a Little Twig.

Joyce Rupp has gently guided hundreds of thousands toward a deeper understanding of personal and universal spiritual truths. Now, she shares her first collection of poetry and her highly personal search for growth, inner freedom, and peace. Rupp shares her own awakening to the spiritual realities in nature, affirming the inner journey and challenging the way we live our lives.

Each of these uncomplicated, profound verses demonstrates how the simple things in nature reflect a larger spiritual reality. Each was born from a moment of Rupp's attention to nature(a literal manifestation of a truth revealed as she focused upon some particular aspect of the natural world. She encourages readers to trust their own dreams, no matter how fragile they may seem - just as a bird rests itself on a small twig and trusts it for support.

The simple beauty of the poetry in Rest Your Dreams on a Little Twig is enhanced by the accompanying line drawings by artist Barbara Loomis. With stunning strength and simplicity, each drawing is a visual poem that reflects Rupp's insight with an exquisite clarity. Loomis conveys the spiritual truths of nature through her art as beautifully as Rupp conveys these truths through verse. The combination is powerful.

Joyce Rupp has authored numerous books, including the bestsellers The Cup of Our Life, Praying Our Goodbyes, and The Cosmic Dance. A member of the Servants of Mary community, Rupp speaks widely at retreats and conferences and has been a featured in Spirituality and Health's Living Spiritual Teacher project.
