London: G. Kearsly, 1776. 3 vols. in one, slim large 4to, (2), viii, 40; viii, 31; vii (-iii-iv), 23pp. Full polished calf, gilt-paneled covers, backstrip richly gilt, gilt edges. A fine copy though probably washed for rebinding. § "Eighth" edition, with Austin Dobson's plain blue book label, another bookplate reading "Autant Icy qu'ailleurs", and a tipped-in note stating that Dobson believed this copy to be "unique, or nearly so". That may be, as it appears to be some kind of sammelband with three different title-pages dated 1776 (Retaliation), 1774 (The Traveller) , and 1775 (The Deserted Village). No such configured copy is in ESTC, so highly unlikely this is an original version, but merely a modern binding of the three texts together. Seller Inventory # 125155
