Anthony Aquan-Assee, M.Ed, was given the gift of a "Second Life and a Second Chance" after a horrific motorcycle accident. In this accident, Anthony sustained a severe Traumatic Brain Injury as well as numerous life-threatening internal injuries and he remained in a very deep coma for two weeks.

Anthony's brain surgeon as well as the team of trauma doctors told Anthony's parents that their son would never awaken from the coma and even if he did come out of the coma, Anthony would be a vegetable for the rest of his life.
Anthony's parents were told that they should have the life support system that was keeping their son alive, turned off, because there was no hope. But two weeks later, Anthony started to come out of the coma, and twenty years after that, he wrote this book.

Anthony owes his survival to the miraculous healing powers of MUSIC as well as to the miracle of modern Western medicine. However, recovering from his traumatic brain injury was a different story. After struggling with pharmaceuticals for years, Anthony explored several alternative treatments, including neurofeedback, cranial electrotherapy stimulation, laser therapy, and Kangen Water. The results were mind blowing.

Rethink, Redo, Rewired chronicles Anthony’s amazing comeback from the brink of death. During this difficult journey, Anthony discovered the brain’s incredible power to heal itself. Pharmaceuticals, while useful and beneficial in many instances, also introduce a toxic element to the system, complicating the natural healing process.

Anthony Aquan-Assee, MEd, graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor of science and four years later received a bachelor of education from Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario. In 1997, Anthony was in a motorcycle accident and slipped into a coma for two weeks. In the year 2000, he received the prestigious Courage to Come Back Award from the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health in Toronto.

Anthony went on to graduate from the University of Toronto with a Master of Education. He is the author of Second Life, Second Chance: A Teacher's Chronicle of Despair, Recovery, and Triumph, Starting Over: A Survivor's Guide, and a fantasy novel titled Vendeka's Creed. In 2009, Anthony won an Eric Hoffer Award for Independent Publishing. His writing is influenced by "seeing the light" after a near-death experience. He works in Toronto, Canada, as a teacher, author, and motivational speaker.
