Le Retour Des Rats/the Rats Came Back

Along the ditch, past the barn, into the big old house, and down the hall to the kitchen they come. Granny catches sight of them, grabs her broom, and shouts "You little rascals! You're back!" Granny is in for a treat! The rats, dressed in aprons, skirts, gaiters and suspenders, scatter to their multiple tasks, polishing, gluing, sweeping, and painting, while Granny tends to her boysenberry pies.

With a rhythmic, read-aloud text, a granny who defies all expectations, and a most unusual supporting cast, The Rats Came Back is a delightful book that turns us on our heads. Rats have simply never been so charming!
